June 2022 (Tidings magazine) - Helping Hand Ministry (HHM) ended the year 2021 disbursing record funds in the amount of $546,863 that assisted 2,564 Tulsa County
residents with our “Basic Needs Assistance Program” and our “COVID-19 Rent Assistance Program as follows:

  • Food that provided 8,010 meals to 890 family members.
  • Assisted 793 family members avoid a cut-off of utility services.
  • Helped 723 families avoid an eviction from their landlord.
  • Assisted 2 individuals with needed prescription medication.
  • Helped 156 individuals secure a photo ID that is necessary for employment.

With First Presbyterian Church donating all our overhead expenses and an all-volunteer staff, HHM can use 100 percent of donated funds towards helping Tulsa County residents through a difficult time in their lives. One special gift of $440 was given to Helping Hand by a former client who said, “A few years ago you all helped me on my electric and I recently received a bonus at work, so I wanted to donate it to you.” What a wonderful way to give back.

On behalf of the HHM’s volunteers, we wish to acknowledge with gratitude the congregation’s support for helping us help others in need. You truly make a difference. To donate please go to www.helpinghandministry918.com. If interested in volunteering, please call 918-638-5167.
