What does it feel like here?
The global Church shares the same gospel message but speaks with different “accents.” At First Presbyterian Church, you will encounter multiple worship styles that are neither as traditional nor formal as the liturgies you might find at a Catholic or Lutheran Church, nor are they as modern as you might expect from a non-denominational concert-style Church. Each expression of the Body of Christ is unique, even within the same denomination, so we hope you will come and experience our community for yourself.
Location & parking
First Presbyterian Church is located at 709 S Boston Ave., at the corner of 8th and Boston in downtown Tulsa. It’s easily accessible by multiple highways that connect the city, including 75, 412, 244 and the Broken Arrow Expressway.
A small weekday parking lot is located immediately South of the main building, and we reserve this lot for handicap and “limited mobility” guests and members on Sundays and during events. Additional Church parking is available in the Stephenson Lot at the Southwest corner of the intersection and in the Powerhouse lot at 8th and Cincinnati. Ample free street parking is also available on nights and weekends.
Main Church building
The historic Church building on Boston Ave. holds the main Sanctuary, the Kerr Chapel and multiple other classrooms and meeting spaces. These spaces are joined via a beautiful Atrium to Stephenson Hall, education wing and the Church offices.
All facilities in the main Church building are easily accessible from the main atrium (north and south side entrances) with additional entrances to the Sanctuary on Boston Ave.
The Bernsen Center and T.I.F.
Tulsa International Fellowship holds worship at 11 a.m. in the Great Hall, located on the fourth floor of the Bernsen Center located at 700 South Boston Ave. across from the main Church building. Enter through the south doors.
Can I visit a Sunday school class?
Sunday options for young children
Children are always celebrated and welcomed at First Presbyterian Church. Families are encouraged to worship together in every service, regardless of age or attention span. If you need a moment to step out with your young children, there is an enclosed room (E207) on the second floor overlooking Stephenson Hall or a nursing mother’s room located in the children’s area.
From 8-noon on Sundays, we provide childcare and Sunday school options for infants through fourth grade. Please visit our children’s area, and we will be glad to get you set up in our secure check-in system.
Sunday elementary-age programs
We especially encourage elementary-age children to participate in Sunday services with their family and Church community. Following “children’s time” in worship (about 15 minutes into the service) pre-K through second graders are invited to join in activities in our children's area.
Sunday youth programs
Grades 5-12 are all invited to attend the Sunday School hour (9:30-10:30 a.m.) in the Powerhouse, locate across Cincinnati street at 223 E. 8th St. We encourage youth to attend regular worship services with their families.
