Children’s crafts for Christmas
Advent is a wonderful time of year when we remember Christ sacrificing heaven for us. The Bible tells us that he became a child for us and that He is Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father and Prince of Peace. This is Good News indeed!
For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor,
Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
– Isaiah 9:6
One of my favorite traditions this time of year is decorating our Christmas tree. I enjoy getting out the ornaments that represent milestones in the life of our family. We put our tree in the center of our house so we can see it from each room. The Christmas tree represents the biggest milestones of Christ’s life here on earth. It represents the wood that the manger and the cross were handmade from. It is a constant reminder of Christ’s sacrifice for all of us and the love He shares with us.
One way we can share Christ’s love at Christmas is to make simple Christmas trees out of paper or fabric and give them to our family members, friends, neighbors and those who cannot come to Church due to illness or age. Here is a pattern for a Christmas tree that can be made out of paper or fabric and decorated with glitter, buttons, sequins and other fun items. The tree can be slipped into a Christmas card as an added surprise. It can be the actual card with a loving message written on it or it can be made into an ornament by attaching a ribbon at the top.

Advent helps us remember the love that God has for us. He showed us that love by sending His Son to us. Merry Christmas!
