Tulsa AGO Centennial Organ Open House
Downtown Tulsa is unique in the number of churches located within blocks of each other, featuring large pipe organs that have played important roles in the history of those buildings.
You have the opportunity to visit these historic buildings and the pipe organs that make music in those spaces. The Tulsa Chapter of the American Guild of Organists, celebrating the 100th Anniversary of its founding, will sponsor visits to the organs in these seven churches, starting with:
First Presbyterian Church – Saturday, September 17 at 10:00am
You will have the opportunity to learn fascinating details about our Sanctuary organ, with the console rolled out in full view. Ron Pearson will tell you about its history and you’ll enjoy a short musical program. You can ask questions, play a few notes yourself, and enjoy a photo op while you sit at the console! Mark your calendar and join us.
Also mark your calendar for the rest of the series. Click here for the full printable schedule.
