Maundy Thursday Seder Dinner

On Thursday, March 28 we will gather in Stephenson Hall for a Seder dinner. This meal will be a child-friendly celebration of God delivering his people out of bondage and an experience offering us clearer understanding of the Last Supper in the context of the Passover meal. We will begin promptly at 5:00 and will end at 7:00.

Advance registration and pre-payment is required by no later than Sunday, March 24. Childcare will be available for infants to two-years old.

Click here to register and pre-pay for your meal(s) and indicate if childcare is needed. The cost is $10.00 for adults, $6.00 for children, and $25.00 for a family.

Background Information on the Purpose of Seder

The word Seder simply means “order” and refers to an order of service designed to tell the story of the Passover. The Feast of Passover is geared for everyone including children, as we personally participate in the meal together. By touching, tasting, and smelling the elements on the Seder table, participants are brought back to the great events of the original Exodus and the redemption of the children of Israel. Additionally, for Christians, it reminds us of the redemption and deliverance from sin that God has provided through His Son. The first part of the Seder leads us through the story of the Exodus with prayers and foods and singing. It ends with a hearty meal and communion in the context Jesus shared it with his disciples.
