Finding Your Form and Faith in Clay
Join Whitney Forsyth for her new class "Finding Your Form and Faith in Clay." This class will focus on the use of nature as inspiration. Through the natural world God teaches us, speaks to us and provides for us. We will create work in clay that represents the natural environment around us and also reflects our faith. Each person will make a small group of ceramic forms using simple hand building techniques, slab, pinch and coil building. All work will be fired, glazed and finished in a variety of ways.
Join us from September 11th through October 16th from 6:15 - 7:30 p.m. (Room TBD)!
In It For the Long Haul... Marriage Lessons from the Heart
Despite all the changes taking place in the world around us, marriage is still the rich blessing God meant it to be—but not without intention and effort on our part. “In It For the Long Haul: Marriage Lessons from the Heart” is an engaging and uplifting six-week class taught jointly by Jerry and Anne McCoy, happily married for 37 years. Based on scriptural wisdom and practices, the class is open to all, but will be of particular help to couples who are contemplating marriage, or in the first several years of marriage.
Join us from September 11th through October 16th from 6:15 - 7:30 p.m. in Room E104!
God created humanity in God’s image - to be creators and cultivators of the earth. The first third of our life is spent learning how to do that. The second third of our life is consumed with those efforts. Does our calling to work end when we exit the workplace? Come and join Rev. Rebecca Morad as she explores what “a theology of work” looks like in the third third of life (aka retirement).
Join us from September 11th through October 2nd from 6:15 - 7:30 p.m. in Room E101!
During this course, “The Parables of Jesus,” Dr. Mark Hall, PhD will be examining those parables of Jesus that are both well known including The Good Samaritan and The Prodigal Son and not as well known including The Unjust Steward and The Unjust Judge. By studying their Hebrew background and Sitz im Leben, the parables will come alive and their meaning will become clear.
Join us from September 11th through October 16th from 6:15 - 7:30 p.m. in Room E100!
