Confirmation

Confirmation will begin on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, 6:00-7:30 in the Powerhouse and is for all freshmen and any other high school youth interested in exploring their faith. Confirmation will be in conjunction with our regular Amass Exodus gatherings, and we hope any high school student interested in going through the confirmation process will join us for Amass beginning on September 14, 2022. Confirmation students will be engaged in a six-month lesson and small group discussion series about different aspects of our faith. Our hope is that each student will grow in their understanding of what they believe and confirm their faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

On March 24-25, 2023, we are having a confirmation retreat for all confirmands. We strongly encourage every confirmand to attend this retreat. Each confirmand will be given the opportunity to write out their answers to six Statement of Faith questions at this retreat. The Statement of Faith questions is meant to help each youth articulate what they actually believe and who Jesus Christ is in their life. The statement that each student crafts will be shared with the session for their examination to become members of First Presbyterian.

Any youth who wants to become a member of First Presbyterian will meet with session on April 25, 2023 and then participate in their Commitment and Prayer service on Thursday, April 27, 2023.

We hope that you will prayerfully consider having your child involved and invested in Amass Exodus beginning September 14 and continue to grow in their faith in confirmation beginning October 26. The cost for confirmation is $30.00. This helps us cover the cost of the curriculum, materials, and the Bible each confirmation student will receive.
