Elementary Sunday School begins in Wiseman Hall with a praise and worship time followed by announcements and a brief introduction to the weekly lesson. Children dismiss to their grade-level classrooms where committed volunteers facilitate their learning the Bible lesson with a rotating emphasis on art, science, cooking and mission. The curriculum follows the message from the pulpit and a helpful corresponding "Read It, Teach It, Live It" is set for email delivery at 1:00 p.m. each week. This parent tool is designed to encourage and equip parents to become spiritual leaders at home!
"And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men." Luke 2:52
Where Can I Take My Elementary-Age Children On Sundays?
Children are welcome in all worship services. When not in worship, elementary-age children may go to:
- First-Fourth Grade: Children come to know the stories of the Bible through experiences that bring the Word to life. They also gain a greater understanding of worship and the doctrines of the faith as, they prepare to lead in worship through song and service.
After the "time with children" at 11:00 a.m.
- Kindergarten-Second Grade: K-2 Quest—Following the pastor's "time with children" at 11:00 a.m. worship in the sanctuary, children are invited to join K-2 Quest, an expedition through the Bible for kids in Kindergarten through 2nd grade.
- Third-Fourth Grade: Children are encouraged to join their parents in one of the 11 a.m. worship services.
