Young Adult Ministries at FPC
Welcome to the Young Adult Community at First Presbyterian Church! Whether you are single, married, or anywhere in between; new to faith or looking for deeper theological engagement, we hope that you will feel the warmth and welcome of God’s family here at First Pres. We are committed to helping young adults discover their place in Christ and the local church. Below are some of the ways that you can get connected!
We have a range of services from Contemporary at 8:30 and 11 am in the Stephenson Hall to traditional services at 8 am (Kerr Chapel) and 11 am in the Sanctuary to the Tulsa International Fellowship that meets at 11 am in the Great Hall.
K-Groups (or Koinania groups, from the Greek word for fellowship) are small groups that meet weekly for prayer, bible study, and to develop community. There are a number of different groups with differing ages and demographics. Contact: Phillip Bowman
There are a few different ways to get connected at the 9:30 hour. A class for Young Adults meets in the Prayer Room each week. The Pastors Study, taught by Dr. Jim Miller also meets in the Miller Library and is open to all ages. For more info, contact Courtaney Miller.
A great opportunity to meet up with other Young Adults in a casual environment and share a meal, play a game, or just make some new connections. These typically happen on a monthly basis. For more information, check out our Facebook page.
Third Thursday Theology (on Tap)
We are starting up a new monthly get together at Marshall’s Brewing (618 S. Wheeling) to talk faith and life. Each month, from 6:30 to 8pm, we will have a new topic presented and some time for table conversation. For more information, contact Daniel Hutchinson.
Young Adults in Action
There are a lot of ways to serve here at the church. A number of our Young Adults are involved in Food on the Move, a mobile grocery store that brings much needed produce to food desert areas in Tulsa. Contact Michael Grogan to get connected with this ministry. We also have a long standing partnership with Emerson Elementary School and are always looking for mentors who are willing to meet with students once a week over lunch. Contact Cindy DeVore. For other ways to serve or invest in the life of the church, contact Angie Gwinner.
