Asking for Mission Funding and Applying for Matching Funds

Asking for Mission Funding

We make a difference in the world by seeking God’s pleasure and good will among the forgotten and oppressed people of the world.  That means we look for places where God is longing to be at work establishing his kingdom of justice and righteousness, but also looking for people he’s already doing his work through.  When we find those places and people, we can’t wait to invite others to join us.

Please pray for the people and programs we currently support financially, as well as our hands-on efforts among those we’ve determined First Church is called to serve, both in Tulsa and around the world.

On the other hand, you or your small group may already be involved in an outreach ministry that God is blessing.  If you believe that God may be calling First Church to join you in that outreach ministry, whether simply to support your work or to assemble a team to join you, the Mission Committee would like to hear from you.  Please contact Rev. Elaine Johnson (EJohnson@firstchurchtulsa.org, 584-4701) to start the process.

Applying for Matching Funds

Every year First Church sets aside some funds to be used to match the money raised by Sunday School classes and other small groups within the life of the church.  As a Session committee, the Missions Committee uses certain criteria to determine who we help fund; therefore, the matching funds allocations are also expected to meet those criteria.  Groups requesting matching funds must fill out a Mission Committee Checklist for Matching Funds, available from Dionna Schooley (DSchooley@firstchurchtulsa.org, 584-4701) in the office of the Assoc. Pastor for Mission and Outreach.  The completed form will be submitted to the Mission Committee for consideration.
