Divorce

Each year, the pastoral care office has an 8-week course for adults, and a companion course for children, who are struggling with divorce and broken relationships.

We will address issues you face—such as children, finances, feelings, forgiveness, reconciliation and building new relationships—in a spiritual context.

Come and join us—find help, discover hope, experience healing.

Childcare is available for infants and children up to 4 years of age.

Grief

“Come to me, all you who are weary and overburdened…” Each year, the pastoral office offers a workshop on the nature and process of grief. We focus on the essential aspects of grieving and help you understand the nature and value of grief. The class is led by Rev. Rick Davis and a bereavement counselor.

Domestic Violence

Domestic Violence: A Silent Epidemic In Our Pews

During the month of October – Domestic Awareness Violence Month – First Presbyterian Church, Tulsa, in cooperation with DVIS*, will host a special four night look into the Silent Epidemic of Domestic Violence. This workshop is designed to heighten our awareness of domestic violence and help us build networks for safety within our congregations and our communities.

If you are involved in ministry to children, in ministry to youth and college age students, in prison ministry, in couples ministry or in marriage counseling and training, if you are involved in Divorce Care ministry, in addiction and support group ministries, in family ministry, in outreach and evangelism – if you are a professional therapist, an ordained, minister, a volunteer, a church program staff member, a teacher, a neighbor . . . if you are someone involved in ministry to People, then this workshop series is for you.

At each event DVIS sponsors and counselors will show ushow the church can play a vital role in standing against this silent epidemic. Come and join in the conversation. Take a stand for Christ for our children, for our sisters and our brothers, for those caught in the silent web of abuse and violence.
